We’re halfway through summer. Have you taken advantage of all the things to do in the Oklahoma City metro area? If not, there’s still time. Don’t miss the end-of-summer events in Edmond.
Krazy Daze is an Edmond tradition, dating back to 1953 when McCall’s owner, Hoot Gibson, got the downtown merchants together to present a sidewalk sale. This year, Krazy Daze takes place Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28, with more than just great bargains. The shops close at 5 p.m., but the first-ever Krazy Fun Street Party takes its place at 7 p.m. This year’s theme is “Krazy Koolness” with a tropical twist, so head to Downtown Edmond to chill on a hot summer night!
Heard on Hurd is a monthly event that takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the corner of Broadway and Hurd in Downtown Edmond. We’re waiting for the date to be announced for August. This street festival showcases the locals: live music by local performers, food served up from the area’s best food trucks, and an array of unique items from Edmond’s shops.
Concerts in the Park fills the summer sky with music every Thursday evening in Hafer Park. Bring a lawn chair, a picnic, and listen to different performers and genres every week.
Whether you seek inspiration or just appreciate fiber artistry, mark your calendar for the Edmond Quilt Festival, August 3-4 at Oklahoma Christian University. This annual, juried event exhibits the work of skilled quilters, and is your chance to win or purchase one of these stunning pieces.
KickingBird Golf Club hosts the 15th Annual Parent Child Championship on Sunday, August 5. Partner up with a budding golfer for a taste of competition on the greens.
The Edmond Farmer’s Market and Junior Market takes place in Mitch Park every Wednesday through mid-August, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Support local growers, especially the area’s youth.
End your summer with a splash at Mitch Park with Slide Outta Summer on Saturday, August 25. Nine inflatable water slides will be ready for all ages to get wet and wild. Food trucks, music, and free activities will make this event a great way to celebrate the end of summer.
